Vitamin C ethyl ether (VCE) is a very useful vitamin C derivative. It is a chemically stable, non-discoloring and amphoteric (both lipophilic and hydrophilic) substance. This has greatly expanded its scope of application, especially in daily chemistry. VCE can easily penetrate into the dermal layer through the cuticle. After entering into the target cells, it can be easily decomposed by biological enzymes. In this way, it can play the role of vitamin C, thus improving its bioavailability, while ordinary vitamin C is difficult to be absorbed by the skin and its bioavailability is very low. | 1. Directly participating in collagen synthesis, VCE can improve collagen production and skin elasticity and smoothness. 2. It inhibits tyrosinase activity and melanin formation, reduces melanin to colorless, effectively contributing to skin whitening. 3. It is both lipophilic and hydrophilic, and thus easily absorbed by the skin. 4. Compared to VC, VCE is very stable and non-discoloring.
